Kim Hansen

Kim Hansen is an experienced FACEM with a passion for quality and safety in healthcare. She works as the Director of the Virtual Emergency Care Service in Metro North and is the Director of the Critical Care, Women’s and Children’s Service Line at the Redcliffe Hospital, in southeast Queensland. She has published on a range of topics including access block, incident monitoring, gender equity, cognitive bias, quality and safety and most recently, virtual care.
In addition, Dr Hansen was ACEM's Queensland Faculty Chair from 2017 to 2024, has been a member of ACEM’s Quality, Safety and Performance Committee since 2009, was Chair of the Board of Emergency Medicine Foundation 2019-2023, Chair of AMAQ’s Ramping Roundtable, and was the inaugural Chair of ACEM’s Advancing Women in Emergency and IFEM’s Quality and Safety Special Interest Group. Dr Hansen’s passion is to provide high quality care to patients and streamline processes for staff. Her outside of work passion is basketball, which she enjoys playing and coaching.

Dr Elizabeth Rushbrook (CSC, MBBS, MHA, FRACMA, RANR)

Dr Liz Rushbrook is a Specialist Medical Administrator who graduated Medicine from University of Queensland in 1994. She has extensive medical and military experience and is a fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Medical Administrators.
Liz initially worked as a young doctor in Queensland before serving in the Royal Australian Navy. She rose steadily through the Navy ranks as a Medical Officer to Commodore, serving ashore and afloat before returning to Queensland in 2016. She is passionate about Emergency & Disaster Management, Business Continuity, Medical Workforce Wellbeing & Management, Clinical Innovation and Clinical Governance.
Liz separately serves as a Member and Director of the Australian Medical Council (Member with experience as a Senior Executive of an Australian Public Hospital) and as a founding Director of Disaster Relief Australia.

Liz is married to Andrew. They have three (mostly independent) sons who they enjoy supporting making their way in the world.

Dr Deepak Sharma

Deepak Sharma is an Emergency Physician and Chief Medical Officer at the CWM Hospital Emergency Department in Suva, Fiji.

He has special interests in Clinical Leadership and Teaching especially Short courses.
He is a member of several National and Hospital taskforces especially those that came about during and following the COVID-19 pandemic and involving patient care.

Outside of work he enjoys cooking, reading and catching up on Bollywood movies.

Dr Judd Hollander

Judd E. Hollander, MD, is Senior Vice President of Healthcare Delivery Innovation at Jefferson Health and Professor of Emergency Medicine at Sidney Kimmel Medical College (SKMC) at Thomas Jefferson University. Responsibilities include the JeffConnect Telemedicine Program, Jefferson Urgent Care and other innovative programs taking care to patients.
His research interests include innovative care delivery models (including telemedicine), risk stratification of patients with potential cardiovascular disease; cocaine associated cardiovascular complications; and laceration and wound management.

Dr Justin Yeung

Dr. Justin Yeung is a Fellow of the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine (2002). He served as Director of Emergency Medicine at Royal Perth Hospital (2008-2010) and has held leadership roles in emergency and junior doctor training.

In 2010, he became Director of Medical Service for the Western Australia Country Health Service (WACHS) and was appointed the inaugural Director of Emergency Medicine at Albany Health Campus in 2013. Since 2016, Dr. Yeung has led the WACHS Emergency Telehealth Service, which has grown into the Command Centre, overseeing various telehealth services and patient transfer coordination across WA.

Dr Joanna Lawrence

Dr Joanna Lawrence is the Paediatric Director and Deputy Director of the Victorian Virtual Emergency Department (VVED). She also works at the Royal Children's Hospital as a Clinical Informatician and consultant in Hospital in the Home. She is passionate about reducing waste and inefficiencies and driving towards a more sustainable healthcare system.

Prof Peter Cameron

Professor Peter Cameron serves as the Academic Director of Alfred Emergency Academic Centre and holds the position of Professor of Emergency Medicine at Monash University. He has previously served as the President of the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine and the International Federation for Emergency Medicine. With a global focus, Peter has provided consultation and published extensively on trauma and emergency system development. His impressive research portfolio includes over 700 peer-reviewed publications. In his role, Peter leads teaching, research at Alfred Health, aligning with the organisation's strategic priorities and values.

Dr Andrew Underhill

Dr. Andy Underhill is a dedicated fellow of the Australasian College of Emergency Medicine and is currently Deputy Director of Emergency Medicine for Virtual Care at Alfred Health. With nearly two decades of experience, he focuses on healthcare leadership, quality improvement, geriatric emergency medicine and utilising telehealth to extending the delivery of emergency care. Andy has been a consultant at Alfred Health since 2015. He has worked on developing a consultant-led telehealth platform aimed at allowing patients to receive care closer to their homes, reducing emergency department visits and improving patient care through virtual pathways. Passionate about education and mentorship, Andy is committed to supporting the development of future emergency medicine professionals. He is a member of the ACEM Emergency Telehealth Network Executive. His research in telehealth has been published in several medical journals. Outside of work, he enjoys cooking, walking, cycling, and trying to keep pace with his two toddlers.

Dr Fredrick Folke

Fredrick Folke is the Head of Research at the Emergency Medical Services, Copenhagen University, Denmark.
The main field of research Fredrick focuses on is within out-of-hospital cardiac arrest, resuscitation, cardiovascular epidemiology, emergency medicine, and use of artificial intelligence and innovative technology in emergence patient care. He has a broad experience within many research modalities including classical epidemiology, pharmaco-epidemiology, review studies and meta analyses, machine learning, intervention studies, in-silico trials, and randomized clinical trials.

Dr Kelly Rhone

Kelly Rhone, MD serves as Avel eCare’s Chief Medical Officer. In this role, she is responsible for physician engagement and retention, program development of telemedicine services, and educating medical professionals on telemedicine and change management. Dr. Rhone has been practicing emergency medicine for more than 20 years and joined Avel eCare to help bring cutting-edge emergency and critical care to the patient’s bedside, regardless of location.

Dr Eleanor Junckerstorff

Dr Eleanor Junckerstorff was elected to a fellowship of the Australian College of Emergency Medicine (ACEM) in 2018. Since then she has been working as an emergency physician at The Alfred and Sandringham Hospitals. Eleanor enjoys playing a role in the education of her medical colleague. She is an APLS instructor.

Dr Justin Bowra

Dr Justin Bowra is a senior emergency physician and co-clinical lead in Emergency Ultrasound at Royal North Shore Hospital in Sydney. He is the chair of the ACEM Emergency Telehealth Network, a founding member and sponsor of the ACEM Sustainable EM and Climate Advocacy Network, former deputy chair of the ACEM Ultrasound Subcommittee, and former chair of the CCPU Board of the Australasian Society for Ultrasound in Medicine. He is the Founder and a Board Director of My Emergency Dr, Board Director of The Green Institute, a senior advisor for Emergency Medicine Ultrasound Group Australia, a professor for the Ultrasound Leadership Academy, and a member of Doctors for the Environment Australia. He is also a published author (Emergency Ultrasound Made Easy, Bowra and McLaughlin, 3rd edition, Elsevier and Point of Care Ultrasound for Emergency Medicine and Resuscitation, 1st ed, OUP) and is a Medical Advisor to Echonous Pty Ltd. His passions include planetary health, telehealth, tele-education and ultrasound.

Dr Benjamin D’Souza

Dr Benjamin D’Souza is a Paediatrician who has trained and worked as a Paediatric Emergency Physician. He is currently a Consultant Paediatric Emergency Physician at the Women’s and Children’s Hospital and is the medical lead for CAVUCS and WCH@Home (HITH service).
By way of background, Dr D’Souza has worked in the field of Paediatrics for close to 30 years, initially working in India before coming to Adelaide. He has a special interest in Disaster relief and Safety and Quality in PED. He has also been deployed with the Australian Disaster response team to serve in Pakistan in 2010 and the Philippines in 2013. This diverse experience has led to his passion to use Virtual healthcare as a way to make quality healthcare accessible to remote and regional residents. The goal is to ensure that the right patient is seen in the place by the right person at the right time.
