In partnership with the Bangladesh Armed Forces Medical Institute, this landmark program is the first formally recognised emergency medicine training initiative in Bangladesh, designed to equip the next generation of physicians with essential skills and knowledge in emergency care.

The Emergency Medicine Certificate - Bangladesh

Gain knowledge, skills and experience in emergency medicine with access to a group of highly experienced, internationally recognised faculty from a major Australian Emergency and Trauma centre. This course provides a practical opportunity to examine and apply the latest evidence and international best-practice recommendations to your clinical practice.

Students will undertake a six-month program beginning on 28 July 2025, combining online and in-person learning.

 

The online component includes self-directed readings, podcasts, discussion forums, interactive case studies, and live tutorials.

 

Students are also required to attend two in-person workshops in Dhaka, which will include OSCE training and assessments. The course is delivered by a team of expert Emergency Medicine faculty from Australia and covers all foundational topics needed to begin a career in Emergency Medicine.

Upon successful completion of this program, participants will be able to:

  • Have a basic understanding of the workings of the emergency department

  • Increase their knowledge and skills in the assessment and management of patients with common emergency presentations

  • Improve clinical decision-making with emergency department patients

  • Be introduced to evidence-based Medicine and how it applies to clinical practice in the Emergency Department

  • Understand and implement reflective practice
